About the Journal
The Funglia Journal is our evidence-first resource on functional mushrooms — written to help you understand what the research actually says, in plain language, without hype.
What we cover
The Journal explores the science, history, and practical use of functional mushrooms such as lion's mane, reishi, cordyceps, chaga, and turkey tail. We focus on what has been studied, how these fungi have traditionally been used, and how to think clearly about formats, dosing, and realistic expectations.
Who writes it
Articles are researched, written, and reviewed by the Funglia Editorial Team. Every piece is checked against our editorial and compliance standards before it is published. We write in a single, consistent voice across the Journal — measured, specific, and honest about the limits of the evidence.
How we think about evidence
Functional mushrooms are an area of active research. Much of the human evidence is still early, and individual responses vary. We describe what studies have examined using structure-and-function language — how a compound has been studied for its role in supporting normal physiological processes — rather than claiming any product treats, cures, or prevents disease. When the evidence is preliminary, we say so.
Honest expectations
Functional mushrooms are food-grade fungi, not stimulants or medicines. Most do not produce a dramatic same-day effect, and any perceptible sensations often come from other ingredients in a formula. We would rather set an accurate expectation than an exciting one.
Our relationship to what we sell
Funglia sells functional-mushroom supplements. The Journal is educational and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional. Where an article links to a product, it is because the product is relevant to the topic — the content is not written to make a sale.
